St. Louis—Due to the excellent reception received by ROKK™ products when introduced to hiking and camping enthusiasts in 1999, ROKK™ has almost doubled the line for 2000. Eight new pack models are being added to the line including technical packs, minimalist packs and new external and internal frame packs. The ROKK™ pack line offers top-tier performance gear at affordable price points.

A line of new technical packs have been introduced to satisfy consumer demand for a “go-anywhere, do-anything” product. Made of high density nylon Diamond Rip-Stop with polyurethane coating and equipped with a built-in rain cover, these packs are ready for any weather. Cobra-cut, curved shoulder straps and waist suspension provides additional back support while on the trail. With massive zippers, mega bar tacks and extensive pockets and loops, the all-terrain packs provide an abundance of features at a solid outstanding value for climbers, in-line skaters, skiers and hikers.

Both the Arete Technical Pack (RK20320) and Avalanche Technical Pack (RK20315) include a bladder pocket in the main compartment and a removable slab front pocket that accommodates a hydration bladder and doubles as a day pack. Both also have an intricate stretch cord compression system to secure jackets, hats, etc. The Arete measures 22" X 12" X 8", has a capacity of 3320 cubic inches and weighs 4.4 lbs. The Avalanche measures 22" X 13" X 10", with a capacity of 3420 cubic inches and weighs 3.5 lbs.

The largest technical pack is the Crevasse (RK20310) measuring 24" X 13" X 9", offering 3440 cubic inches and weighing 3.4 lbs. It features a front gear slab, stretch cord compression system and an internal frame sheet.

Two front vertical pockets allow for easy access to the Spire Technical Pack (RK20300). This pack measures 21" X 13" X 6.5", has a capacity of 2530 cubic inches, and weighs 2.2 lbs. With most of the accessories of the other ROKK™ technical packs, this smaller size is perfect for everyday carrying.

Offering the same features as other packs found in the ROKK™ line, the ultra lightweight Minimalist packs come in either a feather-light external model or an internal frame model.

The Mistral Minimalist External Frame Pack (RK20225) measures 32" X 13" X 7", has a capacity of 4150 cubic inches, and weighs 4.9 lbs. An internal divider zips out to provide more room in the main compartment. The lightweight, ultra adjustable frame has a built in rain cover and gear slab. The Neve Minimalist Internal Pack (RK20145) is 32" X 13" X 7". With the same capacity as the Mistral, the Neve weighs 3.8 lbs. and the internal frame sheet has “T” stay system and an extra long spindrift collar for use as a bivy sack.

The new Cirque Women’s External Frame Pack (RK20230) is built for hiking on established trails. This 17" X 14" X 7.5" pack is specifically sized, contoured and shaped to fit women. With a capacity of 2800 cubic inches, this pack weighs 5 lbs. Built to suit, the frame is also extendible and fits a torso length of 15" to 20".

The largest pack introduced for 2000 is the Talkeetna Internal Frame Pack (RK20150). This multipurpose pack measures 35" X 15" X 10", with a 6200 cubic-inch capacity and weighs 5.6 lbs. For more room, the top pocket extends and can be removed to wear as a fanny pack. The slab front pocket accommodates a hydration bladder and can also be removed and used as day pack.
