St. Louis—The ROKK™ 2000 tent line features 14 models including eight new tents. Pushing further into the high tech strata to satisfy the sophisticated demands of today’s camper, ROKK™, a brand of American Recreation Products, Inc., is doubling its entire line for 2000.

Throughout the ROKK™ 2000 line, there are a number of products designed specifically to minimize weight. One new tent that meets the ultra-lightweight standard is the Minimalist 2-Person Backpack Tent (RK30028), with a carry weight of 4.8 lbs. Featuring a center height of 41" Front/22" Rear, and a base of 51" Front/48" Rear X 112", the tent has: an L-shaped door with a No-See-Um mesh window; a #5 nylon coil zipper; and 7000 series 8.5 mm aluminum alloy poles.

As with many of the models introduced last year, four new ROKK™ Sport Domes offer two frame choices: the ultra-lightweight, ultra-strong, 7000 series aluminum alloy, or anodized black, super-strong U.S.-made fiberglass.

The Truckee Sport Dome (RK30029) is 58" X 94" with a center height of 40" and 8.5 mm fiberglass poles. The Rock Creek Sports Dome (RK30030), also has a base of 58" X 94", a center height of 40", and is equipped with the 8.5 mm aluminum alloy 7000 series poles. Both have a Dutch "D" style door, two No-See-Um mesh windows, and #5 and #8 nylon coil zippers. The walls, floors and part of each roof are taffeta nylon. For additional ventilation, part of the roof is the No-See-Um mesh. Both of these domes sleep two comfortably.

The Palisade Sport Dome (RK30031) and the Toulumne Sport Dome (RK30032), offer slightly different selection options. Both have base sizes of 8'6" X 5'6", center heights of 45" and sleep three. They also each feature one Dutch "D" style door with a window, one No-See-Um mesh window, and #5 and #8 nylon coil zippers. The Palisade comes with U.S.-made 8.5 mm fiberglass poles; the Toulumne poles are 8.5 mm aluminum alloy.

Three additional domes are also introduced in the 2000 tent line. The Dolomite (RK30027), is a three-pole wedge dome with a base of 7' X 8' that sleeps three and has a center height of 48"; the fiberglass poles are 9.5 mm and 8.5 mm. The Massif Geo Family Dome (RK30033), is 11' X 8'4" with a center height of 73", sleeps five to six and has 11 mm fiberglass poles. The Lhotse Hex Dome (RK30034) has a base of 9' X 8', a center height of 54" and sleeps four. Each of these domes has a Dutch "D" style door and two, No-See-Um mesh windows. The walls, floors and roofs are all nylon taffeta and the zippers are #5 and #8 nylon coil. Both the Dolomite and the Massif provide increased ventilation due to a partial No-See-Um mesh roof.

All ROKK™ tent floors and bodies are made of 70 Denier, 190T nylon taffeta with a 1000 mm polyurethane coating. Together, these features offer superior abrasion resistance and decreased weight. The seams are taped and sealed at the factory to ensure water resistance. Ultra-water resistant rainflies are made of polyester with a 2000 mm polyurethane coating. The fabric is also ultra-violet light resistant, keeping tents cooler, colors fresh, and maintaining the initial strength of the fabric for a lifetime. Each tent has No-See-Um Mesh panels that combine breathability and strength. Clearview windows are a new addition to all ROKK™ tents. These are windows in the rainfly that allow light into the tent even on overcast days. All tents come with lifetime warranties and adhere to the standard -- "Nothing is as Rugged as ROKK™".
