20 Inch Big Blue Water Filter Reviews: Finding the Right One

Okay, so, here’s the deal with my recent project: installing a 20-inch Big Blue water filter.

First off, I noticed our tap water wasn’t quite right. It had this weird taste and sometimes looked a bit cloudy. I figured it was time to do something about it. After looking around and asking some friends, I decided to go for this whole-house filter setup. I kept seeing this “Big Blue” 20-inch filter mentioned, and it seemed like it could handle our water issues.

So, I started by trying to find one of these filters. I checked a few local stores, but no luck. It was like, “No products found. More often than not.” Then, I remembered someone telling me to check out online marketplaces. I found a few options, but some were from wholesalers offering customizable stuff, which was way more than I needed. I just wanted one filter, not a whole batch! Finally, I found a regular one that looked like it would fit our needs.

Next, I had to get it installed. This was a bit tricky since I’m not exactly a plumbing expert. I got all the tools ready and started by shutting off the main water supply – that’s super important, by the way. Then, I found a good spot on our main water line to place the filter. It needed to be somewhere accessible for when I’d have to change the filter later on.

After cutting the pipe, I had to install the filter housing. This was a bit of a struggle, but I managed. I connected the inlet and outlet pipes to the housing, making sure everything was tight and secure. I used some of that plumber’s tape to prevent leaks – that stuff is a lifesaver.

Once everything was connected, I slowly turned the water back on. I was holding my breath, hoping I didn’t mess anything up. Thankfully, no leaks! I let the water run for a few minutes to flush out the filter and get rid of any air in the lines.

Here’s what I noticed after the installation:

  • The water tasted way better. That weird taste was gone.
  • The water looked clearer. No more cloudy stuff.
  • The water pressure seemed a bit lower, but nothing too bad.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a bit of a project, but definitely worth it for better water quality. Now, I just need to remember to change the filter every few months. That seems easy enough. It is very good!
