2000 Gal Water Filter Cartridge Deals: Find the Best Price!

Okay, here’s my sharing about replacing the water filter cartridge.

So, I got this water filter, you know, the kind that goes under your sink. It was working great for a while, but then the water started tasting kinda funky. That’s when I knew it was time to swap out the filter cartridge. This one is supposed to be good for 2,000 gallons, which sounds like a lot, but time flies when you’re drinking water, I guess.

First thing I did was turn off the water supply to the filter. There’s usually a little valve under the sink you gotta twist. I made sure it was completely shut off, just cause I didn’t want any surprise leaks.

Then I put a bucket under the filter housing, cause there’s always some water that spills out. With that bucket there, I grabbed the filter housing. Usually, you can just twist it off, but sometimes you need a special wrench. Mine just came right off, thank goodness.

I took out the old cartridge. It was pretty gross, all discolored and stuff. I was almost afraid to touch it. You could definitely see why the water wasn’t tasting great anymore. I just tossed that sucker in the trash.

    New Cartridge Installation Steps

  • Washed the housing: I gave the inside of the filter housing a good rinse with some soapy water. Just wanted to make sure it was clean before putting the new one in.

  • Inserted New Cartridge: I grabbed the new 2,000-gallon cartridge and popped it into the housing. It fit in there pretty snugly.

  • Screwed Housing Back On: Then I just screwed the housing back onto the filter head. I made sure it was tight, but not too tight.

After that, I slowly turned the water supply back on, checking for any leaks. Everything looked good, so I let the water run for a few minutes to flush out the new filter. That’s what the instructions always say to do. I didn’t wanna take any chances, so I ran it good and long.

And that was it! The water tasted way better after that. It’s kind of crazy how much of a difference a new filter cartridge can make. I should probably mark my calendar or something so I remember to change it again in another 2,000 gallons. This whole thing took maybe 20 minutes, tops. Not a bad way to spend a little time to make sure my family is drinking clean water. I heard somewhere that if I spend $1000 on filters, I can get an extra 10% off. That sounds like a pretty good deal, I might take them up on that when I buy the next batch.
