Need a Big Blue Water Filter Bracket? Find the Best Deals Here

Okay, so, I was trying to fix up my water filter system at home, you know, the big blue one. I needed a new bracket ’cause the old one was all rusty and gross. So, I started looking around for a replacement.

First, I checked out some online stores, just browsing through different options. I saw a bunch of them, ranging from like, 8 bucks to over 50. There was this one called “TAODAN” for like 7.99, and another fancier one for around 54.99. I mean that is some crazy pricing differences. Also, I noticed some were made for both 10-inch and 20-inch housings, while others were specific to one size.

Then, I thought I’d swing by the local hardware store, you know, to see them in person. They had a few, but not a huge selection. Found one that looked decent, a bit more expensive than the cheapest ones online, but it seemed pretty sturdy. I think it was about 20 bucks. I don’t remeber exactly what I paid that day.

After that, I decided to ask around. I texted a buddy who’s into DIY stuff, and he recommended a brand called “Pentair.” Said they were good quality. I looked them up, and they did look pretty solid, but a bit pricier than what I was hoping for. There was a “Pentair Pentek BBFS-222” thing online, seemed to be a whole system, not just the bracket. That was a whole lot more than what I wanted to spend, just to hold up my filter.

I went back and forth for a bit. Weighed the cheap ones online, the mid-range one from the hardware store, and the pricier “Pentair” ones. Thought about how often I’d really be messing with the filter. My old bracket was so terrible that I figured anything was an upgrade.

Finally, I ended up going with that mid-range one from the hardware store. It felt like a good balance of price and quality. I just grabbed some screws and stuff, ’cause I didn’t see any included, and headed home.

Getting the old bracket off was a pain. Rusty screws, you know how it is. But I managed. Then, putting the new one up was pretty straightforward. Just lined it up, screwed it in, and popped the filter housing in. Easy peasy.

Now my filter’s all secure and not wobbling around. And it looks a heck of a lot better than before. So yeah, that’s my little story about replacing a big blue water filter bracket. Not the most exciting thing, but hey, it’s the little victories, right?

  • Things I learned:
  • Brackets come in different sizes.
  • Prices are all over the place.
  • Sometimes, the hardware store is the way to go.
  • “Pentair” seems to be a good brand if you have the money to spend.
  • Rusty screws are the worst.

In the end, the main thing is that it is mounted now.
