Is This the Best? We Put the Big Blue Water Filter to the Test in This Review!
Okay, so, I wanted to share this whole thing about setting up a “Big Blue” water filter at home. I had been thinking about doing this for a while, you know, because the water quality in our area isn’t the best. So, I took the plunge and got one.
Getting Started
First off, I had to figure out what kind of filter I needed. After digging around a bit, I found out that you gotta look for filters that actually take out the junk that’s in your water. Not all filters are the same, right?
The Process
The whole installation thing seemed a bit much at first. I’m no plumber, let me tell you. But I got this friend who’s pretty handy, and he helped me out. We got all the pipes and fittings sorted. It took us a good part of the day, messing around with wrenches and stuff, but we managed to hook it all up.
Choosing the Right Filter
- Flow Rate: I made sure to check the flow rate. Didn’t want to end up with a trickle when I’m trying to fill up a pot.
- Filter Material: I read somewhere that some materials are better than others, so I tried to get the best one I could afford.
- Filter Type: Ended up going with a 4.5 x 20 dual gradient melt blown sediment filter, I also heard that pleated one is a good choice, but just a bit pricey.
The Result
After we got it all set up, I turned on the tap, a bit nervous, I admit. But wow, the water that came out was clear as day! It tasted different too, in a good way. No more weird aftertaste or cloudy look. We did it! We installed the “Big Blue” filter.
Maintenance
Now, I know these filters don’t last forever. I’m gonna have to change it out every so often. I saw that someone said they had to change theirs every few months. I’ll have to keep an eye on it and see how long mine lasts.
So yeah, that’s my story about the water filter. It was a bit of a project, but totally worth it. Clean water, straight from the tap – can’t beat that!
