So, I needed to fix up the water situation at my place. Decided to go with this Pentek 20 Big Blue water filter housing, the one without a pressure relief valve. Let me tell you about the whole process.

First, I got this housing, a genuine Pentek 20 inch Big Blue. This thing is meant for whole house filtering, not just a single tap. It’s got these 1 1/2 inch inlet/outlet ports, so it’s got some serious flow capacity. I figured, this is it, this is the one that’s gonna solve my water issues.

I unboxed the thing, and it came with the housing itself and a wall-mount bracket. No filters included, but that’s alright, I knew I had to get those separately. I had done some reading and settled on a couple of slimline cartridges, 10 x 2.5 inches each. Perfect for catching sediment and improving the taste with some carbon filtering.
