Sterilizer Cabinet with UV: How to Use It the Right Way?

So, I’ve been meaning to get one of those sterilizer cabinets with UV lights for a while now. You know, for extra peace of mind with all the germs going around. Finally pulled the trigger and got one, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the experience setting it up and figuring it all out.

First off, I started by looking for options on online. There are a ton of these things out there, different sizes, different features, you name it. It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest. I did a few searches, read some reviews, and finally settled on one that seemed pretty decent – the TR-255N UV cabinet. It’s a 15W model, which the details said is good enough, and it’s supposed to do its job in like 15 minutes. Seemed reasonable.

When the package arrived, I unpacked it carefully. The cabinet itself looked sturdy enough, made of metal and all. I wiped it down just to be sure it was clean, even though it’s supposed to be new. Then came the fun part – figuring out where to put it. It’s not huge, but it’s not tiny either. Eventually, I found a good spot in my bathroom, near an outlet.

Next, I read the instructions. Yeah, I’m one of those people who actually reads the manual. It was pretty straightforward, thankfully. Basically, you just plug it in, put your stuff inside, close the door, and press a button. But there were some warnings about not looking directly at the UV light, which, fair enough.

  • Plug it in.
  • Put stuff inside.
  • Close the door.
  • Press the button.
  • Wait for 15 minutes.

So, I started experimenting with different things. Toothbrushes, combs, my phone, keys, even some glass vials I use for storing small items. I was curious if it could handle all of that. I arranged them inside, making sure not to overcrowd the cabinet, because I figured the light needs space to do its thing.

Then, I pressed the button and waited. There’s a little window on the door, and you can see the purple glow inside, which is kinda cool but also a bit eerie. After 15 minutes, the light turned off automatically, and I carefully opened the door. Everything looked the same, obviously, but I felt better knowing they were probably cleaner now.

I’ve been using the sterilizer cabinet for a few weeks now, and it’s become a part of my routine. It’s super easy to use, and it gives me a little extra peace of mind. I wouldn’t say I’m a germophobe or anything, but it’s nice to have that extra layer of protection, especially these days. It’s become one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had it. So yeah, that’s my story with the UV sterilizer cabinet. Pretty mundane, I guess, but hey, it’s the little things in life, right?
