Bag Filter Vessel Types: Which One is Right for Your Needs?

Today I’m going to talk about my experience with a bag filter vessel. You know, those things they use to filter out all the gunk in liquids.

So, a while back, I had this project where I needed to filter a whole bunch of water. And I mean a LOT of water. This wasn’t just some little aquarium, we’re talking about an industrial-scale operation. We had all sorts of nasty stuff in the water, dirt, sediment, you name it. We needed a way to get rid of all that junk and make the water clean.

At first, I tried some other types of filters. They were okay for smaller jobs, but they just couldn’t keep up with the amount of water I was dealing with. They clogged up quickly and then I spent more time cleaning filters than actually getting work done. It was a real pain.

Then, someone told me about bag filter vessels. I did some research and decided to give them a try. They looked kind of like these big metal containers with a bag inside.

  • Ordered the Vessel: I found a supplier online and ordered a single bag filter vessel. It’s designed to handle the flow rate I needed.
  • Received and Inspected: When it arrived, I made sure everything was in good shape. No dents or scratches.
  • Installed It: This was pretty straightforward. I hooked it up to the existing piping, making sure all the connections were tight and secure.
  • Put in the Bag: I opened up the vessel and put in a new filter bag. They come in different micron ratings, so I made sure to get one that would catch all the particles I needed to remove.
  • Started the Flow: I turned on the pump and watched the water start flowing through the vessel.

The first time I used it, I was amazed. It was like night and day compared to the other filters. The water just flowed right through, and the bag caught all the nasty stuff. I could see the water getting clearer and clearer as it went through the filter.

What I really liked about it was how easy it was to change the bags. When one bag got full, I just shut off the flow, opened up the vessel, took out the old bag, and put in a new one. It only took a few minutes, and I was back in business.

Since then, I’ve used bag filter vessels on a bunch of different projects. I’ve filtered water, oil, and even some chemical solutions. They’ve never let me down. They’re tough, they’re reliable, and they get the job done.

One thing I learned is that it’s important to get the right size bag and the right micron rating. If you get a bag that’s too small, it’ll clog up too quickly. If you get a micron rating that’s too big, it won’t catch all the particles you need to remove. So you have to do a little bit of homework to figure out what you need.

Anyway, if you’re ever in a situation where you need to filter a lot of liquid, I highly recommend checking out bag filter vessels. They’re a real game-changer. That’s my story on how bag filter vessels helped me out. Hope it helps some of you out there too!
