Affordable Cartridge Filter for Pool: Dont Miss These Deals!
So, the other day I was looking at my pool, and it was looking a bit, well, not so fresh. You know how it is, after a while the water just doesn’t have that sparkle anymore. Figured it was time to do something about the filter. I’ve got one of those cartridge filter systems, which are usually pretty easy to deal with, but it had been a while since I last changed it.
First, I went online to see what my options were. I’m not made of money, so I wanted to find a good deal. Saw a few places advertising free shipping and discounts, which is always a plus. I mean, who doesn’t love saving a few bucks, right?
There were so many choices! I found some on a site that I think was called “Pool Supplies Superstore”, they claim to offer savings of 30-50%, sounded pretty sweet. Then there was another site talking about having the best pool filter parts without breaking the bank. Lots of big words and promises there.
I also checked out this place called “XtremepowerUS” or something. They had these heavy-duty looking filters, talking about 200 sq/ft and handling pools up to 47,000 gallons. The prices were a bit steep, though, like $629.95 for one of them. Free shipping, at least.
Next, I went to this giant online store, “Amazon” it’s called, and they had a whole bunch of stuff. It’s kind of overwhelming, to be honest. They have this thing called “Best Sellers”, and it showed this “MRSTOT Type I Pool Filter Cartridge” thingy. I guess it’s popular. There were also some cheaper options, like this “Intex Easy Set” filter for $12.82. But I was looking for something a bit more serious.
I found some more expensive ones too, like this “Savener” thing for $149.99 and a “Unicel” one for $92.95. Again, free shipping on some of them, which is nice.
Then I remembered good old “Lowe’s”. I checked their website, and sure enough, they had a bunch of pool filters too. They had some filters for like $714.35 and this other one called “VEVOR” for $190.00. There was this fancy-sounding one called “Maximum-Purifier” for $615.94, and another that said it was for in-ground and above-ground pools for $293.02. Yeah, this was taking way longer than I thought.
Decisions, Decisions
- Option 1: Go with a cheaper one from Amazon and hope it works well.
- Option 2: Splurge on one of those heavy-duty XtremepowerUS filters.
- Option 3: Check out Lowe’s and see if I can pick something up in person.
After weighing my options, I decided to go to Lowe’s. I like seeing things in person before I buy them. Plus, I figured I could ask someone there for advice if I needed it.
So, I drove over to Lowe’s, found the pool section, and started browsing. They had a decent selection, and the prices were pretty much what I saw online. I ended up grabbing a filter that seemed like a good balance between price and quality. It wasn’t the cheapest, but it also wasn’t the most expensive. I think it was around $100, maybe a bit more. They offer me to pick it up in store.
Changing the Filter
Getting the old filter out was a bit of a pain. It was all gunked up and slimy. But I managed to wrestle it out and put the new one in. It fit perfectly, which was a relief. I turned the pump back on, and after a few minutes, the water started looking clearer already.
It’s been a few days now, and the pool is looking great! The water is crystal clear, and it feels so much nicer to swim in. I’m glad I finally got around to changing the filter. It was definitely worth the effort.
So, that’s my little pool filter adventure. It wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world, but it’s one of those little chores that you just have to do if you want to enjoy your pool. Hopefully, this new filter will last me a while, and I won’t have to worry about it again for a few months.
