Best Cartridge Filter for Your Pool? (Learn How to Easily Find the Right One!)
Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this whole pool filter thing I went through. I mean, who knew keeping a pool clean could be such a fuss? Not me, that’s for sure. Anyway, I figured it was time to get a new cartridge filter, ’cause the old one was, well, old. And let me tell you, the water was starting to look a little, uh, questionable.
So, first things first, I started poking around online, you know, just to see what’s out there. There are a lot, and I mean a LOT of choices when it comes to pool filters. After a bit of digging, I figured out that a cartridge filter was the way to go for my pool. Seemed like the easiest to deal with, and honestly, I’m all about easy.
Next I went to my local pool store, but they really didn’t have many options. So I did some more digging and talked to some people. I ended up buying a popular filter, the Hayward C1200, based on what I found out and read.
When I got it, I installed it, which wasn’t too bad, actually. Hooked it up to the pump, and boom, we were in business. I gotta say, the water cleared up pretty darn quick. I was actually impressed.
But here’s the thing about these filters: you gotta clean ’em. It’s not like you just set it and forget it. So, I waited a week, then went to check it out.
- First, I turned off the pump. Don’t wanna forget that step.
- Then, I opened up the filter housing. It was pretty easy.
- Took out the cartridge, and man, was it dirty!
- I hosed it down real good, getting all that gunk off.
- Put the cartridge back in, closed up the housing, and turned the pump back on.
And that’s it! The water’s been crystal clear ever since. I’m telling you, keeping up with the filter cleaning makes all the difference. It’s not that hard, just gotta remember to do it. And if I can do it, anyone can. Trust me.
A few things to keep in mind about these filters:
- They come in all different sizes, so make sure you get one that’s right for your pool.
- You can find them online or at pool stores, but double-check the sizes.
- The cleaning part is super important, don’t skip it!
So yeah, that’s my story about wrangling a cartridge filter. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Just gotta find the right one, put it in, and keep it clean. Easy peasy, right? Well, at least now I know. And my pool? Looking good, if I do say so myself.
