Big Blue Filter Housing Bracket: Strong and Durable Options for You to Choose!

Okay, here is a blog-style breakdown of how I installed a big blue filter housing bracket:

So, I decided it was time to install a whole-house water filter. You know, to get that pure water in every drop and all that jazz. I went with one of those big blue filter housings, the 20-inch one because, well, go big or go home, right?

First thing I did was gather all my stuff. I had the big blue filter housing, a bunch of pipes, some fittings, and of course, the star of today’s show: the bracket. I chose a bracket that’s specifically made for these big blue housings. It said it was a well-matched thing, like peanut butter and jelly. It fit all the brands or whatever, so no worries there.

I started by finding a good spot on the wall in my basement, near where the main water line comes into the house. This part took a while because I had to find the studs, and let me tell you, my stud finder is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. Anyway, after some trial and error, I found them and marked the spots with a pencil.

Mounting the Bracket

  • I grabbed my drill and made some pilot holes. Always use pilot holes, folks. It makes everything so much easier.
  • Next, I lined up the bracket with the holes I’d just made. This bracket was heavy-duty steel, so it was a bit of a workout holding it up. It says the bracket is “heavy-duty steel with a durable”.
  • Then, I screwed it into the wall. I used some pretty hefty screws because I wanted this thing to be rock solid. No wobbly brackets here, no sir.

With the bracket securely on the wall, it was time to attach the filter housing. This was pretty straightforward. The housing just sort of slid into the bracket. It was a snug fit, which is what you want. I didn’t want that thing moving around once the water was flowing.

After that, I connected the water lines to the filter housing. I used some thread tape on all the connections to make sure there weren’t any leaks. This part was a bit tricky, just because I’m not the best plumber, but I managed.

Finally, I turned the water back on and checked for leaks. I was holding my breath, I’m not gonna lie. But, yay! No leaks! Water was flowing nicely through the filter and into my house.

And that’s it! That’s how I installed my big blue filter housing bracket. It wasn’t too bad, all things considered. Now, I’ve got filtered water throughout the whole house, and it feels good. If I can do it, you can too!
