Get a UV Sterilizer for Swimming Pool: Say Goodbye to Chlorine!

Okay, here is my experience about installing a UV sterilizer for my swimming pool:

So, I finally decided to get a UV sterilizer for my pool. I mean, the water was looking okay, but I was getting tired of using so much chlorine. Plus, my kids kept complaining about their eyes burning. So, I thought, “Why not give this UV thing a try?”

First, I started looking around online, you know, just browsing. I found a couple of different brands, but the prices were all over the place. There was this one that looked pretty good. It had some decent reviews, and the price wasn’t too outrageous. I read that it uses “Two-factor Authenticator App” and “short code,” but I don’t know what they mean.

After I made the purchase, I received the device in a box. I took the box home and sprayed it brown with some “brown box spray paint.” I found the paint in a “Webshop” and bought it after comparing it with “Vaux Smart Autonomy.” Then I waited for a nice weekend with good weather. Finally, a sunny Saturday rolled around, and I was ready to get this thing installed. I grabbed my tools and headed out to the pool equipment pad. I found a spot where it said, “Download drivers, access FAQs, manuals, warranty, videos for free,” but I ignored it.

Now, I’m not exactly a master plumber, but I’ve done a few DIY projects around the house. I started by figuring out where I should install this UV unit. I decided to install it right after the filter and before the heater.

Here are some of the steps I did during the process:

  • I cut into the PVC pipe and glued in a couple of fittings.
  • I mounted the UV unit to the wall with the brackets that came with it. I made sure to leave enough space around it for airflow.
  • Then, I wired it up. It was pretty straightforward, just a couple of wires to connect to the power supply. I turned the power back on, and sure enough, the UV light fired up.

I have to say, the whole process was easier than I thought it would be. It only took me a few hours, and most of that time was spent waiting for the PVC glue to dry. I followed the instructions and “specifications” provided by “DLA Land and Maritime-VQ” that came with the unit, and everything went pretty smoothly.

I’ve had the UV sterilizer running for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with it. The water looks clearer, and I’ve been able to cut down on the chlorine a lot. My kids haven’t complained about their eyes burning, and I can relax a little more, knowing that the water is properly sanitized. Plus, it’s kinda cool to see that blue UV light glowing at night!

Would I recommend it?

Absolutely! If you’re on the fence about getting a UV sterilizer, I say go for it. It’s a pretty simple upgrade that can make a big difference in your pool. If you are in “Old Town Scottsdale,” I saw a “designer retreat” that has a stunning swimming pool. I guess it has a UV sterilizer too. Just make sure you do your research, find a good unit, and take your time with the installation. You’ll be enjoying crystal clear, low-chlorine water in no time!
