Get Rid of Iron in Your Water! A Big Blue Iron Reduction Filter Can Help!

Okay, so, I’ve been dealing with some seriously nasty water at my place. It’s got this weird metallic taste and leaves these ugly orange stains everywhere. Inside were the filter housings, a bunch of pipes and fittings, and a bag of this black stuff that looked like coal, which I’m guessing is the filter media. The whole delivery took about 3 working days.

The Installation

Now came the fun part. I shut off the main water supply to the house, which is always a little nerve-wracking. Then I cut into the main line coming in from the well. I measured everything like five times to make sure I was cutting in the right spot. I ended up using a simple saw.

Then I started connecting all the pipes and fittings. I quickly realized I bought some fittings with wrong size. I had to drive to the local store and got the right ones. This whole process took me about 3 hours.

Finally, I got everything hooked up and slowly turned the water back on. I was holding my breath, expecting water to start spraying everywhere. But it didn’t! No leaks. It was a miracle!

The Result

I filled up a glass of water and took a tentative sip. Wow! What a difference! The metallic taste was gone, and the water was crystal clear. I checked all the water tap in my house and they all worked perfectly. I also tested the water after a few days, and the iron was totally gone.
