Get Your Big Blue Water Filter: Home Depots Selection Rocks!

Alright, folks, let me tell you about my recent adventure with the big blue water filter from Home Depot. I’ve been meaning to get one of these for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. I woke up early last Saturday, grabbed a coffee, and headed straight to my local Home Depot. I’ve always been a bit of a DIY guy, and clean water is super important, you know?

Once I got there, I went directly to the plumbing section. Man, that place is huge! It took me a few minutes, but I finally found the water filters. They had a bunch of different ones, but I was looking for the big blue one – the 20-inch big blue water filter, to be exact. I saw some smaller ones and even fancy electronic ones, but I wanted something robust, something that would really last.

After comparing a few different models, and reading the labels a dozen times. I picked one that seemed like a good fit for my home. The box was pretty big, but I managed to lug it to the checkout. Paid for it, then loaded it into my car. It barely fit, had to put the back seats down!

When I got back home, the real fun began. First, I had to clear out the space under my sink. That’s always a joy, right? It’s like a jungle down there! Found some old cleaning supplies I forgot I had. After moving the old stuff, I got my tools together. I got a pipe cutter, some wrenches, and a bucket. I’m not gonna lie, it was a little intimidating at first, seeing all those pipes and fittings.

Next, I followed the instructions that came with the filter. Turned off the main water supply. This is important, people! Don’t want any surprise showers. Then, I started cutting pipes and attaching the filter housing. It was a bit tricky, and I definitely made a few mistakes. Let’s just say I got a little wet, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? I connected the filter, turned the water back on, and checked for leaks. Had to tighten a few things, but eventually, I got it all sorted.

It took me most of the day, but I finally got that big blue water filter installed. Now, whenever I turn on the tap, I know I’m getting clean, filtered water. I even did a little taste test, and I swear the water tastes better now. It feels good to know I did it myself. Like, I actually accomplished something, you know? Plus, I’m pretty sure I saved a bunch of money doing it myself instead of calling a plumber.

  • Woke up early and went to Home Depot
  • Found the big blue water filter
  • Bought the filter and took it home
  • Cleared the space and gathered tools
  • Installed the filter (with a few hiccups)
  • Enjoyed clean, filtered water

So, yeah, that’s my big blue water filter story. It was a bit of a challenge, but totally worth it in the end. If you’re thinking about getting one, I say go for it! Just make sure you’ve got the right tools and a bit of patience. And maybe a towel, just in case.

My advice

If any of you are thinking of installing one of these, feel free to ask me any questions. I might not be a pro, but I’ve been there, done that! It’s a great feeling to have clean water, and it’s even better when you know you did it yourself.
