So, the water at my place started tasting a bit funky, and I figured it was probably time to swap out the filter in my Pentair Big Blue 10 system. I’d done it before, but it had been a while, so I thought I’d jot down the steps as I went along.

First things first, I gathered all the stuff I needed. This included the new filter cartridge, the wrench that came with the system, a bucket, and some towels ’cause things can get a bit wet. Once I had everything ready, I turned off the main water supply to the house. You definitely don’t want water spraying everywhere while you’re doing this.

Next, I found the pressure release button on top of the filter housing and pushed it. This let out any built-up pressure inside. Then, I placed the bucket under the housing and used the wrench to loosen it up. It was screwed on pretty tight, but with a little muscle, it came loose.
