How Does a UV Sterilizer Machine for Salon Work? Learn Here!

Man, keeping things clean in a salon, that’s a big deal. So, I started looking into this UV sterilizer machine thing. I mean, with all the stuff we use on clients, we gotta make sure everything’s super clean, right?

First off, I did some digging online about these UV sterilizers. They use this UV-C light, which is supposed to be good at killing germs and bacteria. That sounds pretty good, yeah? Then I learned that they use the ultraviolet lamp as the light source, it can make sure that the 253.7nm ultraviolet rays are working, that’s how the things are cleaned. I’ve also found some information about “Autoclave”, which uses steam heat to kill bacteria. I think both methods are great for keeping things clean, but UV sterilizer sounds better for salon.

I looked around, and boy, there are a bunch of different models. Some are small, just for like, combs and scissors. Others are bigger, for towels and stuff. I was thinking, which one do I really need?

So, I ended up getting a medium-sized one. Figured it’s a good middle ground. It wasn’t too expensive, which is good. When it arrived, I set it up, which was pretty easy. Just plug it in, and there’s a button to start it.

Here’s how I use it:

  • After using my tools, I give them a quick wipe down.
  • Then, I pop them into the sterilizer.
  • Close the lid, press the button, and let it do its thing.

It takes about 30 minutes for a full cycle. There’s a little light that shows it’s working. Once it’s done, I take the stuff out, and it’s all clean and ready to go.

My Thoughts?

Honestly, it’s been pretty great. It’s easy to use, and it makes me feel better knowing my tools are properly cleaned. Plus, the clients seem to appreciate it too. They see me using it, and it gives them peace of mind, you know?

I’d say, if you’re running a salon, or even if you just do hair and nails at home, a UV sterilizer is a good thing to have. It’s a simple way to keep things hygienic and make sure everyone stays healthy. There’s also another good method called Autoclave, I’ve done some digging. It uses steam heat, and also easy to use, but I’m not sure which one is better.

That’s my experience with the UV sterilizer. It’s not rocket science, just a good way to keep things clean. Hope this helps someone out there!
