Then, I went down another path. I started looking into how much these things cost to run. Turns out, RO is kind of expensive compared to other methods, like just using a carbon filter. You have to factor in the cost of the membrane, the other filters, and the water that gets wasted. Yeah, RO systems waste some water in the process.

Anyway, after all that, I decided to go for it. I found a decent deal on a Dow Filmtec membrane, which is supposed to be one of the best. I installed it myself, which was a bit of a hassle, but I managed. Now, I’m just waiting to see how long it lasts and if it’s really worth the cost.
