Need a pentair big blue 10 filter replacement? Heres where to get the best deals!
Okay, so the other day, I decided it was time to tackle the old water filter. You know, the big blue one from Pentair. It’s a 10-inch, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure.
First, I went and gathered all the stuff I needed. Got my new Pentair Pentek GAC-BB Big Blue Carbon filter cartridge, a wrench, and a bucket. I shut off the main water valve because, well, you don’t want a surprise shower.
- New filter cartridge
- Wrench
- Bucket
Started to Work
Then, I located the filter housing. It’s this big blue thing, hard to miss. I put the bucket under it to catch any water that might spill out. Next, I used the wrench to unscrew the housing. It was a bit tough, but I managed to loosen it.
Once it was off, I pulled out the old filter. Man, was it dirty! It’s amazing how much gunk these things collect. I gave the inside of the housing a quick clean, just to get rid of any residue. Put the new filter into the housing to make sure it fit.
Putting the new filter in was a breeze. It just slid right in. Then, I screwed the housing back on, making sure it was tight, but not too tight. You don’t want to crack the thing.
Finished the Job
Finally, I turned the water back on, slow at first, to make sure there were no leaks. Once I was sure everything was good, I opened it all the way. Let the water run for a few minutes to clear out any air or loose carbon from the new filter.
And that was it! Water tasted great, and I felt pretty good about doing it myself. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Plus, I saved some money by not calling a plumber. Anyone can do it, seriously. Just follow the steps, and you’ll be fine. The water tastes so much better now, too!
