Need a UV Sterilizer Salon Guide? Simple Steps For Salon Hygiene.

Alright, so the other day I finally got around to setting up that UV sterilizer for my salon. It’s one of those things I’d been putting off, but with how important cleanliness is, especially these days, I figured it was time to bite the bullet.

I went with a Dermalogic model. Seemed like a decent brand, and I liked that it was big enough to fit all sorts of stuff, you know, like my scissors, clippers, and those metal cuticle pusher things. Plus, it does the whole UV, ozone, and heat combo, which felt like a good way to really zap any germs. It is a standalone unit made of stainless steel and looks nice.

First things first, I had to find a good spot for it. I wanted it somewhere easily accessible but not in the way. Ended up clearing out a bit of counter space near my workstation. It fit in perfectly.

Getting it set up was a breeze, honestly. It was basically plug-and-play. I just had to make sure it was connected to a power outlet, and that was it. No complicated instructions or anything.

  • Unboxing and Placement
    • Unboxed the sterilizer.
    • Found a suitable spot on the counter.
    • Ensured it was near a power outlet.
  • Powering Up
    • Plugged in the sterilizer.
    • Turned it on using the power button.
  • Loading the Sterilizer
    • Gathered the tools to be sterilized.
    • Placed them inside, making sure not to overcrowd.
  • Running a Cycle
    • Closed the door.
    • Set the timer according to the instructions.
    • Pressed the start button.
  • Completion
    • Waited for the cycle to finish.
    • Carefully removed the sterilized tools.

Once it was up and running, I started sterilizing my tools. It’s got this neat little timer, so I just popped everything in, set it, and let it do its thing. The model I got has this hanging rack design, which is pretty handy for making sure everything gets sterilized evenly.

Feeling Good About It

Honestly, I feel way better having this thing in the salon now. It’s a load off my mind knowing that my tools are getting properly cleaned. It’s a fast 60 seconds to sterilize the small stuff, and for bigger things, it takes only 10 minutes. Clients have noticed it too, and they seem to appreciate the extra effort. One of them even said it made her feel more comfortable during her appointment. So, yeah, I’m pretty happy with this purchase. It’s a small change, but it makes a big difference in how I run my business and how my clients feel about coming in.
