Say Goodbye to Iron Stains with a Big Blue Iron Water Filter, Your Water Quality Solution

Okay, so, the water at my place was starting to look pretty nasty. I mean, you turn on the tap, and it’s not clear, you know? More like a rusty, brownish color. Not exactly what you want to be drinking or showering in. And the stains! Don’t even get me started on the stains in the sinks and toilets. I’m not exactly a plumbing expert, but I’m pretty handy, so I started reading up on iron filters. Seemed like that was the way to go. After looking at a bunch of options, I decided to go with a big blue iron water filter. These things are basically a big housing that holds a filter cartridge, and they’re supposed to be great for handling water with a lot of iron.

I chose one that looked pretty heavy-duty, I wanted to make sure it could handle the amount of iron I was dealing with. After installing the filter, my water was cleaner. It was a huge improvement.

Maintenance

• Cleaning the Housing: When it came time to change the filter, I took the old one out. It was pretty gunked up. Then I gave the inside of the filter housing a good scrub with regular dish soap. Washed it inside and out, made sure to get all the grime off.
• Vinegar Soak: Next, I took some paper towels and soaked them in vinegar. I wiped down every part of the housing with the vinegar-soaked towels. It’s amazing how well vinegar works on this stuff. I let the parts sit on a tea towel for a few minutes.
• Rinse: After letting them sit, I rinsed everything off with warm water. Made sure to get all the soap and vinegar off.

It looked as good as new! I put in a new filter, and that was that.

Man, dealing with well water can be a real pain sometimes. But getting this big blue iron filter was a game-changer. No more rusty water, no more stains.
