Top-rated rc-sf-1000 filter?Get clean water, fast now

Alright, guys, so the water from our fridge started tasting a little funky, and I knew it was time to swap out that old filter. I’ve got the rc-sf-1000, and this is how I replaced the water filter cartridge. Not gonna lie, it’s pretty darn simple.

Locate and Prep

First things first, I found the filter compartment. Mine’s tucked away in the upper right corner of the fridge. Yours might be different, so check your fridge’s manual if you’re not sure.

Before I did anything else, I grabbed a towel. There’s always a little bit of water spillage, and I didn’t feel like mopping the kitchen floor.

Out with the Old

I opened the filter housing. Usually, there’s a little tab or button you push to release it. I just gave it a gentle tug, and it popped right open.

Then, I twisted the old filter counterclockwise. It takes a little bit of effort, but it should unscrew easily enough. A few drips of water came out – that’s why I had the towel handy!

I pulled the old filter straight out. Be careful not to yank it too hard, or you might splash water everywhere.

In with the New

I unwrapped the new rc-sf-1000 filter. Make sure you remove any plastic caps or seals before you install it.

I then lined up the new filter with the housing and pushed it straight in. I screwed the filter clockwise, just to make sure that is tight, it is better not to leak water.

I closed the filter housing. It should click or snap shut, letting you know it’s secure.

Flush and Finish

This is important: I ran water through the dispenser for about five minutes, maybe even a little longer. The manual said to do this, and I figured it’s a good way to flush out any loose carbon particles and get the water flowing smoothly.

At last, I checked for any leaks around the filter housing. Everything looked good, so I’m back to having clean, fresh-tasting water!

Honestly, the whole thing took me less than 10 minutes. It’s one of those little home maintenance tasks that seems intimidating, but it’s actually super easy.
