UV Box Sterilizer Review: Are They Safe? See What Experts Say About Them!
I saw some UV sterilizer boxes online the other day, and they seemed pretty handy, so I decided to get one and try it out.
I did a bit of digging around, and it turns out these things use UV-C light to kill germs. It’s like giving those bacteria a really bad sunburn.
After browsing a bit, I ended up ordering one online. When it arrived, the box said it could sterilize and dry stuff. Seemed like what I need.
The one I got is made of plastic, and it’s got this UV light inside. I started by sticking my phone in there. The instructions said something like 10 minutes for a quick clean, so I set it for that. It worked as expected, though I couldn’t really see anything happening, just a faint blue light.
Then I tried some baby bottles. The box claimed it could do six at once, so I loaded them in. This time, I set it for 35 minutes, which is what the manual suggested for a full clean and dry cycle. After it was done, the bottles felt a bit warm but were totally dry and seemed pretty clean. I guess those UV rays did their job.
- Stick stuff in the box.
- Set the timer based on what you’re cleaning.
- Wait for it to do its thing.
I also tossed in some other random household items, just to see if it could handle them. Keys, remote controls, you name it. It seemed to work fine, although I don’t have a lab to test if it’s really killing 99.9% of germs like they say.
One thing I noticed is that the box has a “Product Review” rating of only 1 out of 5 stars. That’s a bit of a bummer, but I haven’t had any issues yet.
Overall, it seems like a neat gadget to have around, especially if you’re worried about germs. It’s not something I’d use every day, but it’s nice to have the option to quickly sanitize stuff when you feel the need.
But man, you know what, just keep an eye on the timer, and don’t go staring into the light. I am not sure if that would be bad for you, but better to be safe, right?
