Okay, so the other day I was looking at my shower head, and I realized it was probably time to change the filter. I’ve been using the Rainshower RCCQ-A with the CQ1000 filter, and I gotta say, it’s been pretty solid. I mean, we all know how important it is to have clean water, especially when it comes to showering. So, let’s dive into how I replaced this bad boy.

First off, I went online to try to find a replacement. There are a bunch of places that sell these things, so it wasn’t too hard. I found one for a decent price, and it said it would last for like 6-9 months, which is pretty good in my book.

Once it arrived, I was ready to get down to business. The old filter was probably full of gunk, so I was kind of excited to see the difference a new one would make.

Now, replacing the filter is actually super easy. It doesn’t take a genius. You basically just unscrew the showerhead from the pipe. Then, inside, you’ll see the old filter cartridge.

The Nitty-Gritty

• Unscrew: I started by unscrewing the shower head from the shower arm. Pretty straightforward, just twist it off.
• Locate the Old Filter: Once the shower head was off, I could see the old CQ1000 filter inside. It was definitely time for a change – it looked pretty worn out.
• Remove the Old: I just pulled out the old filter. It came out easily, no tools needed.
• Insert the New: Then, I grabbed the new filter cartridge. It had this clear polycarbonate plastic look and, apparently, it contains 15 oz of KDF-55 and 1 oz of energized quartz crystals. Not gonna lie, I’m not entirely sure what all that does, but it sounds fancy, right?
• Slide it in: I just slid the new filter into the housing. It fit perfectly.
• Reattach: Finally, I screwed the shower head back onto the shower arm.

And that’s it! Seriously, it took me like 5 minutes, maybe less. I turned the shower on, and the water pressure seemed a little better. Plus, I felt good knowing that I was showering with cleaner water.

So, if you’re using a Rainshower filter, don’t forget to change it out regularly. It’s an easy way to make sure you’re not showering in a bunch of chlorine and other nasty stuff. My skin feels so much better ever since I changed the filter, you should try it!
